The Malaysian Literacy Assessment Project

Abstract

Many national school systems are now being measured and compared via various internationally-used assessment instruments. Malaysia has not regularly participated in this efforts. This article describes the effort to develop a Model for Malaysian Literacy assessment, and the assessment project that is it product. It then describes a study that uses that instrument in a measure of Malay high school seniors (16 yr olds) at two different schools.
